I've never tried the Kingsford brand to be honest with you. The royal oak to me is the same comparison to the BGE coal. The price is why I've been buying it. Ive never had a problem with losing heat. I do my butts for 15 hours and never have lost the flame. But then again thats just my opinion. Also, I am going on now to find the link but you need to read up on how they make the lump coal and yes it is 100% hardwood and the process is pretty cool. I'll work on that link and let me know how this weekend goes. If it's a flop, come on down to menoy creek. Pretty sure you can find us from there. Just follow your nose.
