In 1950 Georgia had 3,450,000 population and Alabama had 3,060,000 (90% of GA)...today Georgia has 10,100,000 and Alabama has 4,850,000 (48% of GA).  People go where the economy grows.  In the most critical years between 1950 and today Georgia was blessed with Carl Sanders and Ivan Allen while the face of Alabama was George Wallace and Bull Conner.  Think about it.
