Neither my grandfather, my "Granny", nor my wife's grandparents were recipients of any type of welfare. They survived the great depression, always worked, and were not hungry because they planned ahead - IE, a garden. The original homeplace started out as one room and became larger with time and hours of sweat. None of them knew what a home mortgage was.
The strange thing is that the family was 100% Democrat. Can you believe that! Senator Estes Keauffer, Senator Russel, Senator Sparkman, were actively supported in their campaigns. I can't say that for the older Gore.
Then, along came the beginning of the Democrats that we know today. Help us Lord - what happened! Who was the daddy? Lyndon Johnson. Do you remember the concept of the Great Society under Lyndon Johnson. We can trace 90% of today's welfare problems back to Lyndon's crowd.
Citizens born after 1960 became addicts and totally depended on governmental assistance. And they became very literate, as I reported in the earlier post, on how to survive without working. Their vote was always indebted to the one who supported continuation of their lifestyle. Is it different today?
