If I remember correctly, someone posted that a death sentence by a military tribunal would require the signature of President Obama. If tried in a civilian court, Obama's signature would not be required. Is this why Holder is pushing for civilian trials? What about the consequences of one Muslim signing a death warrant for another Muslim? Does anyone remember this summary?

Holder: Death Penalty May Not Be Possible for 9/11 Plotters

Attorney General Eric Holder is raising questions about whether the men responsible for the greatest terrorist attack in U.S. history can face the death penalty if they were to plead guilty before a military commission. That could leave 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed sitting in a cell for the rest of his life.
