As a current UGA student, I can tell you that this is shameful. Additionally, most of the trash does not come from the student body, but rather the 25-40 year old young alumni and friends set. They think they can still drink like they could in college and it turns into a drunken mess in a hurry. Throw in the fact that this was a night game and people had around 10 hours to drink/sober up/drink again, it gets ugly in a hurry.
Additionally, Adams has had to close off the libraries on North Campus for restroom usage due to messes that have been made in the past. Now there are about 10 portapotties on North Campus which is the largest tailgate area on campus. This is just a recipe for disaster, and even though the restrooms are open in Tate, thats a 10-15 minute walk from North Campus, and most drunks don't want to do that.
Sadly, I don't think anything is going to be done about this problem next week against Arizona State and Adams is then going to try to change open container restrictions on campus for the remainder of the season. Sadly, this is just another case of how out of touch with reality Michael Adams is in regards to the issue of alcohol at UGA. Go Dawgs.
