It is all poppycock.  In a previous life I was a battle staff member on the "Doomsday Jet" and can guarantee everyone that there is only one set of the "codes" and a former president does not have them.  Additionally, there are other checks and balances to ensure we don't do something stupid.  Have to leave it at that.
