Motorcycles are dangerous machines. I've had several over the years, but sold the last street bike after a guy almost ran me over at a stop sign (with my daughter on back) in 2003. I had to pop the clutch to take evasive actions and then layed the bike down to get clear. The guy said he didn't even see me. Even an excellent rider is at the mercy of others and the others are almost always in a bigger and heavier vehicle.

It sounds like the accident yesterday may have been self induced, but it's still a very sad situation. My prayers go out to the family.
