No offense taken. I don't know why I don't like him - except when I have listened to him, it seemed to me he was sowing the thread of distrust and suspicion all the time. I spent a month listening to him when we were having our garage/loft built. The guy that did the stone work blasted him on his radio every day. (and no I didn't ask him to turn it down). I don't know that I am any less liberal on some things than I have ever been. I generally support the conservative perspective. There are some social issues that I once felt more liberal about than I do now. I still support equal rights for women, but not in with the "pussy hat group", I see a lot of flaws in the "me too" movement and worry that it will do more harm for women in the workplace than good. But age and perspective changes and being away for a long time from the insulation of Washington.
I don't really have a problem with people that enjoy and find meaning in Rush's message. I like "All Things Considered" on NPR and find that interesting.
If Rush has been supporting veterans and veteran causes, well good for him. All our veterans need all the support they can get.
Maybe I'm just annoyed that I think that the whole medal giving (outside the Congressional Medal of Honor), to the rich and famous has become a joke. There are lots of every day Americans who do extraordinary things who should be considered for a medal like that.
And BTW, I don't find CNN, MSNBC or any of the other so called news services credible and I wouldn't applaud any of them getting a medal. Every time I see Chuck Todd or Margaret Brennan, I literally want to slap them. :-)
