Sure, I'll be happy to cause your ignorance of the law is on parade here. Ya see Goofy, a District Attorney is supposed to follow the law and not indict people based on personal gain. In the case where a DA personally benefits from a prosecution it is almost always thrown out. In this case, Fat Fani personally benefited from the prosecution. She hired her lover as a lawyer despite him having no experience trying RICO cases. She got in return luxury vacations and other, ahem, late night "benefits" from said attorney.
So what should happen is the judge in this case should do the correct thing and remove the case from the Fultion County DA's office. It would then be up to a state entity called the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia to find someone else to take up the case. Once out of the Fulton County DA's office it would be up to the head of this council to appoint another prosecutor. Or they could judge that the case is completely bogus, which it is, and let it drop. No idea what will happen but for sure getting it out of Fulton County would be a positive outcome for the defendants since a convicxtion, regardless of the merits, is a fait accomplis.
Worst case is this is one of many bases of an appeal and unlike NY, Georgia is a sane state and any conviction is likely to be overturned on appeal.
