The new winter lake level was put in effect on Jan. 20 at 483' MD.  We were above 483' because of a 2.7" rain and the level has been lowered back down to 483'.  The lake will remain around 483' plus/minus 3 or 4" till February 28 and then will be raised to 490' in April.  The filing by the fish kissers did not challenge the lake levels, only more fish studies downstream, etc.  The Atlanta Regional Commission also challenged along with the Georgia EPD, and they did challenge the 3' winter pool increase.  The ATL folks are challenging because they say Lake Martin's change may cause Allatona to have to provide more water to the Alabama River, which would take drinking water out of babies mouths in ATL.  The ball is now in FERC's court and they have said nothing so life continues at 483'.  YEA!
