It's because the debt default is all a charade and they know it.  First of all, the Treasury is collecting more than enough revenue to pay its bill long past early June.  Second, Biden knows he is losing this battle and they are no longer convinced that the GOP will get the blame.  He is that ineffective, which is not surprising since he was ineffective before he suffered from dementia.  All Obama had to do was claim that the GOP was obstructing his spending because, well ya know, he doesn't look like them.  Biden has no such advantage.  There will be no default.  Social Security checks will go out on time and everyone will come away claiming victory and pundits on each side will spiin it as a win or loss for their side depending on their specific agenda.
