Would be interesting to know what percentage of the write in votes were for another Republican. That might have been the difference as Jones got less than 50%. As I predicted, the accusations did the trick. Will be interesting also to see what happens in 2020 when Jones has to run again. Will the media perform their magic again or will the GOP primary voters pick a better candidate. One thing I know for sure, absent these allegations and the wall to wall coverage of them, Moore would have handily won. I have no doubt.
BTW, did you see Trump's tweet about the results. Was very gracious and well stated. Here it is for those that missed it.
"Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!"
