Thank You MatiniMan. My intent with my post was not to open the door for another attack on a fella Forum Member.

Far be it, I was hoping my post would help draw all of us together. Meaning as Americans and not that of political affiliations to understand what we and most importantly our soldiers maybe facing in a very strange enviroment to the USA and Idaho specifically.

I appreciate the Off-Topic section of the Forum has become a vacuum for political discussion, but this was not the intent of my post.

I do not mean to demean our reserve forces, but in my time in the service it was difficult to consider them as an equal. They did not have the opportunity to live the day to day professional life as a soldier. The were often serving our Country in a civilan professional roll.

I guess what I am saying is they maybe facing a much more difficult challenge than any one of them was prepared.

It is difficult to consider any of us prepared for capture and seeing the beheading and cruelty of the modern day combat situation.

Battle can bring unbelievable nightmares, but they happen very quickly and things evolve rapidly.

In my mind, capture and torture are not even measurable as a brave person in the same context. How you react in battle and how you might react as a prisoner could be a different measure of bravery. Just something to think about.
