After being on the ocean (Lake Martin) this past weekend and battling 4 and 5 foot swells with no big boats in sight, I have to say the theory of big boats and their wakes doing damage to shoreline and causing the big wakes is COMPLETE BS! Having 5 trillion boats on the lake is what is causing the problem. It was very obvious what the plan was to battle the rough waves....PONTOON BOAT! They were out in full force. If you owned anything under 26' and it was fiberglass you were beat down! The area in front of the ridge marina (malfunction junction) is as close to gulf conditions as you can get and not be in salt water. Mother Nature did her part because It was indeed beautiful....but navigation was just horrible. Glad all the part timers got to get it out of their system and now are gone. We can resume normal conditions on the lake. The 4th is on a Friday.....that is going to be HORRIBLE!
