I, too, have a supplement and pay $4,200 per year for both of us. That is why I asked if for one or two.
As I undertand, the majority of plans in AL are attained age which as you know will increase based on both age and experience.
I am under a plan that is age of entry where the rate at 65 does not change based on age. Just changes based on experience of all coverd by the carrier in the state. My rate was higher to start but really levels out as one gets older. I suspect your plan was lower than mine when you signed up.
I have no copays. What co pays do you have if you have a supplement other than the medicare deductible?
Have you looked into Medicare Advantage?
Based on $6,000 per year, you can self insure since you would need medical bills of $30,000 per year at 20% co pay based on the Medicare schedule of payments.
