An additional angle on the non- selection of available health care coverage. My daughter, among other duties is responsible for health care enrollment of employees. She is beside herself over how many employees won't accept coverage over the $14 a week it costs them. The employer pays the rest. Their reasoning is that the company should pay it all. Besides that, a common theme is "I won't need it anyway, I go to the emergency room to get taken care of and I can get by without paying" !!! I am afraid the health coverage issue will be or is becoming just another welfare program. If participants have to contribute anything the won't take it because its" owed to them". And guess what, some politican will do just that. Give it all to them.
