And as they pointed out, under the statute and bar association bylaws there doesn't even have to be an actual conflict of interest, only an appearance of one. I particularly liked how they all pointed out that her appearance at the church and the things she said, which were extensively publicized, completely taints the entire jury pool. They also pointed out that the DA's office was the one objecting to every question of Wade's attorney, which was not only inappropriate, but indicates that the entire office is tainted as well. And the DA office final statement was probably the worst, mumbling and fumbling, nonsensical performance of all time. He remided me of the family attorny in that sitcom Arrested Development played by Henry Winkler. Funniest scene with him, and there were many, was when he told the family to hold on a second, he was going in to lose this case and he'd be right back.
In a sane world this would be a slam dunk as most legal commentators around the country have stated (even leftists on pmsnBS)....but I keep telling them this is Fulton County, GA.....do not conflate that with a sane world. I expect him to issue a stern rebuke but claim that because of the historic nature of this persecution it will stay with the DA's office but Wade has to go. Sad, but that's what I think as this will be yet another example of the two-tiered justice system we have in this country, one for Democrats and one for the rest of us.
