I'm not an ecologist nor am I a marine biologist, so I can't argue for or against the long term impact on the Gulf. I'm not falling into any kind of emotional response, other than to feel empathy for a man that had to tell his workers that they were being laid off and he didn't know when or if they would be reinstated.
I have no idea if this is doom for the Gulf, but right now, it's not a pretty picture.

Yes, I could Google Earth, but that wouldn't tell me how the ecosystem is faring, and the long term effects on the marine life.

I hope you all are right. I really, really do.

And Lifer, there is no doubt in my mind that some people may be benefitting. And I say more power to them.
