my wife says I am getting to be an obsessive freezer, but, I have started freezing the small leftovers of steak bones (or meat and some fat), boston butt meat, chicken bones and skin. The steak and pork are a million times better flavor inducers for green beans and turnip greens, etc., than those freeze dried cubes they sell at grocery stores. The chicken bones and skin I use to make my basting sauce for the next time I smoke chickens. I also freeze little bits of leftover red wine - freeze them into sandwich baggies or homemade popsicle molds - to toss into normal store bought spaghetti sauce or any red sauce than can use a punch. Makes store bought sauce go from blah to yea!
