I got one if these as a Christmas present and it might be what will solve your problem. Just remember you have to set the alarm temp at least 10 degrees ahead of how you want it.
This thing has a shielded cable that you run the transmitter outside your grill or oven and you have a portable wireless unit you strap on. That way you can drink beer fearlessly until the alarm goes off.
