I visited a friend on Lake Oconee a few days ago. This is a very nice upscale lake in NE Georgia. We spent a few hours boating around, looking at the beautiful mansions that line the shore. At some point in "the tour" I realized the lovely homes and lawns WERE the scenery.....no chimney rock, no eagle nests, no unspoiled woods, no big open water or quiet sloughs with cabins perched on hills. Just wanted to say that I hope Lake Maritn can somehow maintain its natural beauty.
