I will disagree with you here regarding supply and demand. There has been a shortage of light, sweet crude oil which is the refineries preferred crude because they don't have to retool to process it, thereby easier and cheaper to refine. The market has been flooded with heavy, sour crude, which is much more expensive to refine because of the re-tooling process.
