Lake Martin will eventually go the way of Lake Lanier, and that was an inevitable prosession set in place years ago by the sheer beauty of the area and the abundance of land in close proxinity to the bustling metropolises within a two hour drive. The banning of the big boats is an attempt to slow the inevitable, but in all honesty, ultimately nothing will save Lake Martin. As long as there are people nearby, they will use the land to their advantage. The boat ban temporarily slows the exponential decay of the lake itself, but NOTHING will save the Lake forever....

assuming there will always be people involved.
