I remember the day they opened. Lived at the time in an apartment complex off Chesire Bridge Rd near Lindbergh.

Nipsy Russell, the comedian, worked at the Varsity downtown taking orders. I was amazed how you could have a carload of people ordering and they could remember the order without writing it down.
