I am sure that Catherine does have an agenda; that agenda is to keep the lake as good as it can be for as long as possible. But if this forum hold true to form, then Catherine will soon give up her mission-- at least this on-line aspect of it-- because of reactions such as yours. And then, a few years down the road, people will once again be complaining about the same things she brings up now, only by then it will be too late.

Just look at some of the arguments now, and compare them to those being made in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Back then, we had people like BAJ, LakeLover, TOLL, Goober and SLM (among others; those are the ones I can recall off the top of my head) bringing up issues that they felt warranted attention; I doubt you can find a recent post by any of them. But the things they were posting about-- over-development, irresponsible development, mismanagement, and the ecological implications that come with those problems-- are mentioned quite often these days.

If people had listened THEN, we might not be facing some of the problems we have NOW. Likewise, if we listen to Catherine NOW, we might avoid some problems LATER.

Unfortunately, I have little faith that people will listen now. Foresight is not one of the great strengths of the Lake Martin community. (But keep trying, Catherine. Some of us are listening.)
