I wish I shared your optimism about the outcome of this trial. I do think at a minimum he will be convicted on gun charges of some kind. And it would be great if he spends no more time in jail than he already did before he was bailed out but I doubt that as well. I agree about the brain development issue but the reality is that even at 17 he could have a gun for hunting. When you watch the video he showed amazing restraint for someone his age but at the end of the day he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and regardless of his age or judgement the decisions that led him to that time and place were not very good at all. My pessimistic side leads me to guess the best he can hope for is a mistrial. And even if he is acquitted what do you want to bet he is immediately charged by the Feds.
