From Wicker Point Road, turn left onto Young's Ferry. Follow Young's Ferry until you see New Hope Cemetary on your right. About 200 yards after New Hope Cemetary, the road makes a sweeping right hand curve. In that curve, you will see a road to the left. Follow that road North (up the hill) less than 100 yards to the North end of the cemetary. This is where you will find the most damage (look for the loading deck from the logging. It is directly on top of the cemetary).

This cemetary is identifiable by the Sons of the Confederacy, but I do not recall the name, and do not have that information in front of me today. Most locals can lead you to it, and tell you more about it. I am told that many of the families whose ancestors are buried there have since moved to North Carolina, but still visit every few years.

It is very disheartening when you realize what is there, and what has happened to it.
