Archie: As I stated in the past I voted for Romney in the primary the last time around. I am not an ideological purist and have said on any number of occasions that the adult takes the lesser of two evils. That is why I voted for McCain in the general election. I believed then and am 150% convinced now that he would be infinitely better than the Messiah.

I need to learn more about Pawlenty but he seems to me a viable candidate and while he may not be perfect (i.e., agree with all my beliefs) he may in fact be the one that can beat Obama. Or maybe that is Romney. Or maybe someone else that gets in.
Trump can't get the nomination and can't beat Obama. Barbour in my opinion could get the nomination but I don't think would beat Obama. Huckabee the same. Bachman has no hope of either. Ron Paul is a Losertarian and is hopeless as well. Gingrich has too much baggage and is too wonkish. He would absolutely destroy Obama in a debate from a purely technical standpoint but would lose the opinion polls about who won or lost. Some dark horses like Mitch Daniels, Chris Christie or Paul Ryan are interesting but not worth the brain damage until they get serious.

Archie, I have very strong socially and fiscally conservative beliefs but I am way too intelligent to cut off my nose to spite my face. For the sake of this country we must get rid of Obama. I am for the GOP candidate that can do that even if they are not perfect. I am looking for progress, not perfection.

By the way, did you see the revised GDP and jobless claims? It appears we may be headed toward a double dip with inflation. Jimmy Carter's second term is well under way. The question is whether the American people will recognize it and whether the GOP offers up a viable alternative. Hope this explanation helps.
