Hound, l have followed your running debates with MM with some admiration, especially of your patience and level headness. I know MM will not see (sure!) this but most of the others following this forum will and a couple might even finally recognize MM's inability to accept any fact that runs counter to his extremely narrow political and social biases.
Regarding the claim by MM that the GOP led bi-partisan Senate select committee on Iraq war intellegence exonerated Bush and his minions of any fault, I offer the following initial conclusion quoted from that panel's report:
"Most of the major key judgments in the intellegence community's Oct 2, 2002 National Intellegence estimate of Iraq's continuing program for development of WMD either overstate or were supported by the underlaying intellegence reporting. A series of failures, particularily in analytic trade craft, led to the mischaracterization of this underlaying intellegence."
Now, the way I read english I do not interpret this statement as an exoneration of Bush / Cheney.
Of course the committee did not even address the "Downing Street Memo"...a British intellegence report sent to Tony Blair which stated that there should be no worries by Blair on whether the UK might end up with mud on her face by joining the US military adventure because the intellengence was being (sorry the only word that makes sense is) ''cooked'' to support US claims related to Saddam's WMD.
Folks this didn't happen 300 years ago...there are a lot of us, l'm sure including most of you and certainly MM, around who remember it.... MM's problem is he has no interest in remembering the truth.
