At the club where I belong, a lot of the kids (and I guess adults) that live there put tubs of reclaimed balls in their back yards for 25 cents each.

Not sure if that is the case where you play, but my boys buy all their golf balls this way. They pick through them and usually find good ones. Maybe an option for you at your course.
