I have in the past ridiculed the idea of paying reparations to anyone for long ago sins associated with the ugly stain of slavery practiced in the US, but, as politicians love to say I’m evolving on the issue.

Follow my logic for a minute:

Since the justification is based on while there are no persons alive that were affected,  but that descendants of slaves should receive something from descendants of white people , then with a little adjustment to this thinking wins me over to being for the payment.

The refinement is this: since the democrats in years past was the party who supported and perpetuated the institutions of slavery, they built their political system around the institutions of slavery, they seceded from the union because of their support of the institutions of slavery and they caused a horrible civil war to cripple our nation for a while over this issue..........then it follows that the modern day Democrats such as GF, Archy et al should own this obligation outright, pony up and pay for your ancestors sins.

It would help the economy and it would be good for the children.

Not an original idea on my part, borrowed the concept from someone else, but it has a sweet ring to it in order to lay the burden at the feet of where it belongs and to address an issue that the democrats are fully in support of.
