TH

Please reread my comments. I'm not a BP fan at all - my attempt was to:

1. This is not the time to conduct a "show and tell" - How many of these "concerned" congressmen have been to the coast to see first hand what's going on?

2. Why are these same Reps not insisting that all available technology been considered to contain and clean up the spill. People in La are having a tough time getting approval to clean up and contain. Recently, the barges using to collect the oil were taken out of service by the CG to confirm that they had fire extinguishers, life vest, etc. and then put back in service 24 hours later.

3. Are we still refusing to consult with world experts on oil in the Netherlands, etc for "world best practices"?

4. Yes, BP agreed to the $20B and this is maybe 1 years earnings. That's not the point. Obama said on TV that he would require BP to put up dollars and a third party would administer. Why not make the third party the states impacted? What happens to Company X the next time that a similar event occurs? What would the CSX railroad do if they were hauling a load of explosives and a train derailed and Obama decides that CSX was deliberately not maintaining the tracks? Will they put up $5B?

5. I still think that Obama desires the level of power that Chavez has in Venezuela and the current Democrats in Congress would not hesitate to give him this power.
