  I read this week that LA is about to replace a fence with a wall to keep the homeless out of a train station  where they have become an annoyance and sometimes a threat to commuters just trying to get to work. I'm confused because they constantly tell us that walls don't work, that to exclude anyone by building a wall is racist, that to exclude anyone by building a wall is illegal and will cause more problems than it solves and a wall will be detrimental to their self esteem, Yada Yada, Yada.
