GF, what type did you plant? I'm looking at a non-native with a max height of 10'. According to the Lewis Bamboo website it grows for ~ 60 days in the spring and at that time is tender and can be controlled by mowing. I've done a soil sample and it is good for bamboo although the heaviness of clay soil and the ever present rocks and roots aren't ideal.
