Where is your place? You see a few floating piers around but I think the APCO has put some sort of restrictions on what you can use to float the pier and most people have been building a stationary pier. I know that they were restricting foam as the floats but do not know what the actual requirements were.

My pier was already there when I bought my house last year so I did not have much of a choice.
