Local rainfall has little or no affect on the Lake Martin pool rise. Rain to the north and northeast of Lake Martin directly affects the lakes water level rise and fall.

I ask you, why the concern for the water level? Is it because we can't get our pretty little, big, fast, loud boats in the water so we can charge up and down the lake creating havoc? We have already striped our banks of its natural state so we can have a neat shoreline, thus we can wallow without fear of injuring ourselves.

What have you done for the habitat of the lake that would be benificial in the future for keeping the lake clean and unpoluted for future generations. What you have done so far is the same thing that was done for the lakes of the Coosa and the lakes of the rivers of Georgia. You have only to look at the condition of those lakes to see the future of Lake Martin.

We come to Lake Martin to get away from it all and then insist on bringing it all with us. We then work diligently to create on Lake Martin what we left at home. Once we accomplish this feat, then where will we escape to?
