My situation is that my dock is floating, but the water is not deep enough to tie up to it.

However, I was never under any illusion that the lake would always be at a full 490 whenever I wanted; there are too many variables affecting the water level for that to be a safe assumption.

So, I plan accordingly. I've arranged to keep my boat somewhere this spring; when the water is warm enough for swimming-- darn cold snap-- I will anchor the boat to the lakebed if the water at the dock never reaches a good depth.

Some might consider anchoring to be a big bother; I consider it a small sacrifice considering the benefits. Then again, I'm from a generation that learned that good things usually came with a price; Biggerdog sounds like he's from that generation that expects everything to be given to them, and that has little or no regard for anyone else.
