1st timer coming to Lake Martin from South Carolina. With the water so low..where are the hazards? I have 2 sons 12 and 14..is 'The Rock" safe for them to jump from (even at this low of water?)

Is there much current in the lake? Do most people anchor or drift when swimming?

Where are the best places to eat both on the Lake and surrounding towns?

Is the Lake a good place to star gaze at night? (city lights, haze, etc.)

What are must see and dos?

Where is the best ski/wakeboard area? (staying at Stillwaters area)

Which directions do the bad weather patterns usually come from? (southeast?)

Is there good GPS coverage in the lake? cell phone? (which service?)

Thanks in advance so much..we are excited to visit your wonderful lake. As a hydrologist for the USGS, I am always interested in water quality and conditions...even on vacation! If you see us on the lake (probably the only boat with Ohio State Buckeye flag)..please don't sink us...we're freindly!
