that it would be a waste of time for them to petition the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a variance to increase winter pool levels because of the severe drought conditions this spring. In response to a question posed to him during a roundtable session Jim Crew, Alabama Power Company's Manager for Lake Martin Relicensing, made that statement to all attendees. He said that at the State of the Watershed conference at Camp ASCCA a few weeks ago.
