I have had a Mitsubishi mini-split in a 12x16 addition for about 4 years now. Normal room, not a sunroom, but as I recall it claimed it would cover a room up to 600 sq feet so I assume the excess capacity will handle a sunroom. It was bigger than needed because the supplier did not have a smaller one in stock at the time. Paid less than $1500 installed but the AC guy is a neighbor so I might have gotten a deal. It is dead quiet inside so I love that. Outside unit has a fan so it initially vibrated a bit (installed on a deck), but some big rubber washers from Lowes eliminated that. You have to be near the outside unit to hear the fan. I wish all ACs were that quiet. I think you need a second quote. You can google the price of Fujistu 18,000 btu minisplits and see that even with the local supplier markup your price seems high. Installation consisted of drilling a big hole in the wall to run pipes and wires, hang inside unit on wall and connect pipes between interior and exterior unit, run power to exterior unit. 2-3 hours in my case, but obviously things vary depending on how far they have to run power and whatever special situations your house has. But for $4500 I would think you could replace a whole house heat pump for a small house and that involve more time, bigger equipment, more freon and longer runs of copper pipe.
