If you want to include people we worked with -- well, all of my secretaries have been minorities. I managed to get one, who lived in the Alexandria projects, promoted and got another to go back to school -- he completed his two year program while he worked for me. I also launched another minority young man who was from Montgomery, into an industry career. So it's not like I haven't known, and helped the disadvantaged. I talked a secretary, a woman, into going for a promotion that she got. I'm not quite as isolated as you might think. But then again, I haven't been up and down 259 looking for friends either. But, I'm not a snob. I know what it is to work for a living. I didn't hatch as a Washington bureaucrat. I actually worked my way up.
Geez, give me a break.
