You are right and I would never suggest that we try to legislate behavior. But, I do think public figures -- all public figures -- need to think about the imagery and the words they use. I absolutely hate Obama's words about bringing a gun to a knife fight. A Harvard educated public figure should be able to do better than that.
They just need to clean it up. If this incident makes them stop and think, it may be the only good thing that comes out of a sad situation.
