I didn't see it that way.  I thought he became aggressive with her because he didn't want to answer the question about his changes of previously stated positions. If you go into the arena, you have to be prepared for the lions.   He has always been a libritarian, and now he is changing his views to fit in more with the Republicans. 

He's an odd character.  Sometimes I find myself agreeing with him and other times I think he is crazy.
