I have two questions on this baby. First, what's the cost for each size engine? Second, why do ship owners like single engines/screws on their ships? If the single engine goes down, then you're dead in the water. Many years ago, I worked for a very large paper company which had it's own fleet of ships. They were all single screws. I had a shipload of newsprint coming down from Canada to Houston, TX and it had to be in Houston on a certain date. Needless to say, the single engine ship had engine problems and did not meet the deadline. I ended up losing the account because we missed the deadline. I have cussed single screws (no pun intended) ever since.
