Has anyone used any of the relative new paints[stains] for restoring wooden decks on exposed boat docks? Home Depot carries two products[one made by Behr called "Deck Over" and one by Rust'oleum called "Restore". They both require two coats. Behr's product is advertised as being four times thicker than regular paint and conceals splinters and cracks up to 1/4inch, while Rust'oleum has one 4x thicker than regular paint and one that is 10x thicker than regular paint. I was on the verge of going with the "Restore 10x" today when I talked to a person that advised me to do a lot of research before deciding what would be best to use. He said he knew someone who had used either the Behr or the Rust'oleum and that it was "chipping" up. He is going to find out which one he used. He also told me about another product by Sherwin-Willams called "SuperDeck". It is a "elastomeric" coating that is a thick, flexible formula that expands and contracts with temperature changes to deliver maximum resistance to algae and mildew, maximum UV protection and lasting color. I am seriously looking into using this product. I will appreciate any information and suggestions.
