I don't agree with you about Bush. Bush's idea (well not his but Feith, Wolfowitz,etc who signficantly influenced Bush) was that they would SWEEP through Iraq on the way to attack both Iran and Syria. But, we got bogged down in Iraq when it didn't go the way they thought. The "left" had nothing to do with Bush's decision. Don't forget, he didn't care what they thought -- he was the self proclaimed "decider".
But, he could have left Iraq alone and went after Iran and Syria. Or he could have escalated the efforts in Afghanistan and not let Pakistan play their own game... But he didn't choose to do those things. Don't blame the left for his bad judgement.
