It appears the story is not totally without merit. Something happened. But the question is whether it matters.


I blame the 24 hour news cycle. There is a lot of pressure on journalists to continually have the "scoop" -- it has pushed a lot of otherwise responsible journalists to the tabloid side. They are very much a reflection of who we have become. We've become less interested in the facts and thoughtful analysis. Don't forget that there used to be an honor code amongst journalists not to report the seamy stuff. It's all out there now, and people have to do their own analysis as to the credibility.
