The truth is that witnesses wouldn't have done a thing, other than drag it out even more. If they had called Bolton, I suspect that WH lawyers would have filed an injunction citing "executive privilege". They already have sealed the fate of Bolton's book claiming it is loaded with classified information. Who knows when/if that book will see the light of day. And as I see it, the problemm with Bolton is that he wants to get back at Trump for firing him. I have a lot of problems with Bolton and never thought he should have been made National Security Advisor. He is a self promoting bureaucrat if there ever was one.
And if they had called Bidens - either one - they would have pleaded the 5th. As woud Mulvaney. There is nothing new to be learned.
I thought Lamar Alexander was right. Trump was in the wrong doing what he did, and that is all out in the open now. But it really doesn't rise to impeachable. Yes, he slowed down the release of the Ukraine's money allocated by Congress, but they didn't end up losing a dime. It was political theare on Trump's part - he let the know that that they will dance to his tune, but in the end he released the money and it was obligated by the end of the fiscal year in which it was allocated, so they got it.
Trump has not done anything worse than Democrats have done in the past and certainly not to the extent that Democrats would have you believe.
There isn't any cover-up. The country needs this to be over- at this point it is just wasting time and tax payers dollars for political grandstanding. Nancy and Chuck and Schiff don't want it to be over because they think it covers up the fact that they don't have a strong candidate to run against Trump. They are hoping that people will vote against Trump, because it doesn't seem likely that there is a cohesive front for Democrats. Obama put it correctly - Americans want evolution, not revolution.
