So Democrats passed the Infrastructure Bill and are counting it as a "big win". This, despite the fact that this bill has bi-partisan support and would have passed months ago if Pelosi hadn't insisted on linking it with her "reconcilation" bill. Yes, amazingly, Conservatives also think we need to spend money on our hardscape - roads, bridges, shovel in the dirt projects.
Now Democrats are just sure they will pass their "social welfare" bill too. Some parts of it may pass, but a lot of Democrats are waiting for the CBO assessment of the cost before they will commit - they know in their hearts that the bill is not "paying for itself" and that most thinking people, i.e., some of their constituents, are not wanting to take on more debt. The Administration is now trying to play up the additional benefits to seniors, but others have said that they should ensure Medicare and SS are fully funded before they start adding additional benefits for seniors. Everyone knows it is nothing more than a shell game.
