It's hard to believe that given his age and health that he would change parties just to be able to get another term. But Washington is like that -- work is your life.

It's sad that Jack Kemp passed away, but there is no guarentee that more research would have come up with a cure for his cancer. I have two friends with advanced cancer and both are still going. They will not be "cured" but thanks to advances in cancer treatment they are both still going and have good quality of life.

Politicians are good at double speak - that's how they stay in office.
